Here’s How to Find the Perfect Spot!
Have you been dreaming of setting up a farmstand but don’t want to keep it at your home? Do you feel like your street isn’t busy enough? Or maybe you’d rather not have people coming directly to your house. Don’t let that stop you! There are so many creative ways around it.
When I first asked Justin if he’d build me a mobile farmstand, he immediately asked, “Where are you going to put it?” Lucky for us, we have the cutest little country store in town with a gas station and a sweet little RV park in the back, shaded by beautiful trees. The owner is truly an angel and said yes as soon as I asked if I could park my farmstand there sometimes. It’s the perfect spot, and it feels like home!
There are two ways to run a mobile farmstand:
Full-service or self-serve. I do both, and let me tell you—99% of people are honest, kind, and genuinely want to support small businesses. Setting up a self-serve option was surprisingly smooth, and it felt amazing to see how much people respect and appreciate the trust I’ve placed in them.
If you’re looking for a location outside of your home, I bet you’d be surprised at how many property owners would say yes! Drive around your town, look for spots with good visibility and space for parking, and start a list. I’m willing to bet that 7 out of 10 property owners will consider it, especially if you have the right liability insurance. And let me tell you, liability insurance is affordable and invaluable for peace of mind. It’s something you’ll be glad to have even if you never need it.
